Carlos Diaz Joins HLN: Makes Wild Debut on "Morning Express"

Carlos Diaz has joined HLN’s Morning Express with Robin Meade team as Sports Anchor it was announced today live on Morning Express. Beginning today, Diaz anchors Morning Express (M-F, 6 a.m.–12 noon ET) sports segments, and will also contribute and serve as guest host on multiple shows across HLN.

Diaz (@carlosHLN) joins the Morning Express ensemble (@morn_eXpress) hosted by Robin Meade (@RobinMeade) with correspondent Ryan Smith (@RyanSmithTV), personal finance anchor Jennifer Westhoven and meteorologist Bob Van Dillen. HLN’s popular morning show digs deeper into the day’s top stories, while providing a daily dose of news, weather, sports, entertainment and finance.

“Carlos’s positive energy and gift for storytelling is a natural fit to round out the lively Morning Express cast,” said Bill Galvin, Senior Vice President, HLN. “Carlos has been a friend to HLN for more than a year, guest hosting programs including Showbiz Tonight and Issues with Jane Velez-Mitchell, and we couldn’t be happier that he is now in the family.”

Diaz has sports in his blood, serving as a reporter for ESPN’s “SportsCenter,” interviewing the sports elite including Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning. He also served as an anchor for the National Basketball Association's television network, NBA TV, as well as a features writer for NBA.com.

Most recently, Diaz served as a correspondent for the entertainment news magazine “Extra” for eight years, and for the first three, he also hosted the syndicated show “Celebrity Justice.” During his tenure, Diaz additionally hosted “The Daily Diaz,” a nationally syndicated radio report that featured the latest on entertainment, news and sports.

Diaz began his career as a radio sports director in his hometown of Indianapolis, IN, holding a subsequent sports anchor and reporter job at WSVN-TV in Miami.

Diaz currently resides in Atlanta, GA and enjoys snowboarding, golfing, cooking and traveling the world.
