As ICN and users on the forum noted earlier this week, Martin Savidge is currently on assigment for CNN in Baghdad.

Savidge, who was an anchor and correspondent for CNN from 1996 to 2004, returned to CNN as a freelancer last December.

CNN Observations has been told that Martin - who has just overcome a bout of food poisoning in Iraq - is still working as a freelancer, but there are many viewers (including yours truly) who would love to see Martin back in a fulltime role - either reporting or back at the anchor desk.
