CNN Observations Poll #7

Rumor has it that NBC's Campbell Brown is moving to CNN after her contract expires. Do you think hiring away anchors from other networks (i.e. Campbell, Kiran) is a good idea for CNN?

To me, it depends on the network, and honestly, the person themselves. I wasn't happy with the Chetry hire and I don't think I'd be too pleased on CNN hiring anyone from FNC, really. It's such a different environment than CNN is, and I think it's hard to fit back in to something like real journalism when you've been told what to say via memos for years and years.

I think hiring people from network news would generally work, especially Campbell Brown, who has been mournfully underused by NBC.

THE TODAY SHOW MADE A BIG MISTAKE BY NOT MOVING CAMPBELL INTO THE SPOT VACATED BY KATIE COURIC. Campbell Brown is by far, the most competant, personable news anchor. I believe that Campbell definitely should have moved Campbell into Katie Couric's position on Today. She would bring vitality to that show. Meredith doesn't seem to fit in with Matt, and sometimes Al. I believe she should have either stayed on the View, or taken the position Couric has.

In previous post from me, I meant to say Today Show definitely should have moved Campbell to Couric's position on Today Show.

Also, in my opinion, if Paula Zahn wants to go anywhere, she has to get her head out of the clouds. In my opinion, she acts as if she's doing us a favor by reading us the news. Paula Zahn seems just so full of herself. Thank you. Jay Y.
