CNN Press Release: CNN Plans Comprehensive Coverage of Kagan, Petraeus Hearings
CNN’s Candy Crowley and John King will anchor special coverage of the confirmation hearings of Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan during the week of June 28. Beginning Monday at noon, CNN will provide comprehensive coverage during the opening statements and questioning from senators on Capitol Hill.
Crowley and King will be joined by former Reagan administration Justice Department official Victoria Toensing and members of the Best Political Team on Television, including political contributors Donna Brazile, Erick Erickson, Roland Martin and Ed Rollins, senior political analyst Gloria Borger and senior legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin.
Additionally, Crowley and King will helm special coverage of Gen. David Petraeus’ confirmation hearing to replace Gen. Stanley McChrystal in Afghanistan beginning 9 a.m. on Tuesday, June 29. CNN Pentagon correspondent Barbara Starr will join the coverage along with CNN international correspondent Atia Abawi, live from Afghanistan.
Coverage of both hearings will continue during The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, which airs weekdays from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., and John King, USA, which airs weekdays from 7 p.m. to 8p.m.
