At 0140gmt on CNNI, Isha Sesay live in Atlanta broke away from the Japan Now special edition of Talk Asia to introduce live coverage of the launch of space shuttle Discovery. She then handed over to CNN/US with impeccable timing as their coverage was just beginning.

Rick Sanchez was anchoring from Atlanta, with John Zarrella and guest at the Kennedy Space Center. CNN/US graphics were intact on CNNI, except of course for the flipper over the ticker.

CNNI stayed with CNN/US coverage right through to the start of the scheduled Larry King Live.
