WebNewser first broke the story earlier today and has a note from KC Estenson, Senior Vice President of CNN.com. In it, he says CNN.com Live is being closed in order "to create a unit focused on streaming major live events, producing video packages especially for CNN.com and increasing our overall on-demand offering."
Our best to the CNN.com anchors and staff being displaced during this time. No word on what will happen to Nicole's Young People Who Rock blog or other popular CNN.com Live features such as Senior Editor of Mideast Affairs Octavia Nasr's Mideast Voices.
All over the world, when news break, you hear - turn to CNN! Let's see what CNN is saying!
ReplyDeleteI cannot understand your dropping such an internationally needed service, as this is the service that made you so credible, so important - the first breaking the news!
You now choose to be as any other chain. Hopefully someone will be wise enough to see the need of being the first breaking the news!
I wish the four persons of the team all the best.

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I believe CNN.com LIVE was unavailable anywhere outside of the United States.

CNN Observations
This is yet another dumb move by CNN. Honestly, I've given up hope.
ReplyDeleteCNN.com Live was available in Latin America, and I remember catching up on the stream during a trip to South Africa.
ReplyDeleteRe- Dustin
ReplyDeleteyou're wrong, I'm currently living in Spain & I assure you LIVE is (was) available here.
I apologize. I was just informed that CNN.com Live was available most everywhere.
ReplyDelete-Dustin
finally, Domestic Viewers will finally have the chance to catch some CNN International shows.
ReplyDelete:)
Personally, i think these people should have
ReplyDeletebeen given jobs within CNN. They definitely
should have found room for Nicole Lapin
perhaps on The Situation Room.
I'll miss Nauma! She was the best!
ReplyDeleteMelissa Long was on HLN this weekend.
ReplyDeleteNicole Lapin is still with CNN. I saw her
ReplyDeleteon with Tony Harris today, which is Dec.
9th 2009.
Naamua Delaney Was on CNNi
