Studio A had been under construction for the past 5 weeks or so. The new studio features 13 new screens and multiple presentation positions for the various shows that originate from Atlanta.

I can't believe it took them five months to do that... it's basically the same shell as the old set, just with some new colors, screens and furniture.
ReplyDeleteI like how the graphic said that the 13 screens were there to help bring us the news faster. I wish they wouldn't try to pretend the set is there for something it's not.
Not five months. It was five weeks and it was rather quick.
ReplyDeleteNormally I would chuckle at the "bringing news faster" comment, too. However, I've seen some rehearsals of Hala Gorani's new show, and the way they use the displays actually does help it move faster. I think they finally debut it on Monday, so you'll see for yourself.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the fact that they're using the same "shell" doesn't mean you save a lot of time in construction. That's like expecting a house to be livable as soon as the wall framing is up.
I hope they do the same with the CNN

set in Atlanta really looks out of date.
It might help CNN with daytime ratings.
I'm really hoping they gut the CNN Newsroom and do something drastic a la SkyNews. They may not have the space, but the current newsroom is past its prime...
ReplyDeleteThat CNN Newsroom needs to be gutted. It is so old. look at the little screens in the desk around the curve it is so 90's. They really need to do something drastic and now.
