CNN’s Christine Romans and Fortune’s Andy Serwer will host a special hour-long investigative report on CNN/U.S. examining disgraced financier Bernard “Bernie” Madoff and how he allegedly perpetrated one of the largest investor frauds ever committed by an individual.
“Madoff: Secrets of a Scandal – A CNN-Fortune Special Investigation” will air on Saturday, Jan. 10, and Sunday, Jan. 11, at 8 p.m. (ET). The special will profile Madoff and detail how his scheme played out, robbing many Americans of their money. Serwer and Romans, along with CNN correspondents Abbie Boudreau, Allan Chernoff and Alina Cho, will examine how the Securities Exchange Commission may have dropped the ball on busting Madoff nearly a decade ago and will profile a few of the charities that suffered severe ramifications.
Romans hosts Your $$$$$ on CNN/U.S.; Serwer serves as managing editor for Fortune.
Guests for “Madoff: Secrets of a Scandal” include Fortune reporters Katie Benner and Telis Demos and editor-at-large Allan Sloan. New York Post gossip columnist Cindy Adams will discuss how Madoff fooled New York high society. In addition, Romans will conduct a one-on-one interview with Madoff victim Alexandra Penney, a New York artist and former editor of Self magazine, who says she lost her life savings in the Madoff debacle.
“Madoff: Secrets of a Scandal” will also air on CNNI on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 5 a.m. and noon (ET). Segments from the program will be available on CNNMoney.com.
